It was decided to allow the Britannia Cycling Club the use of the Domain on Boxing Day. .. , ~ . _ , It was resolved to write to the heads of the various schools to ascertain the possibility of a public schools competition being commencedjtliis season. After some discussion Dio Association decided to discountenance any Sunday practice at Victoria Domain. The resignation of Mr J. Moore, as delegate for the Wanderers Club, was received, and Mr Crannery was appointed in his place. ROWING. THE AMATEUR DEFINITION. [UNITED PEES 3 ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT.] SYDNEY, Oct. 4. The New South Wales Rowing Association has ruled that New Zealand oarsmen competing for cash prizes for clubs, although only receiving trophies personally, lose their amateur status, and must be reinstated before competing in amateur events in this State. No reinstated person is eligible to compete in national contests. GOLF. P.B. LADIES’ CLUB. The draw for the ladies’ golf match to be held this afternoon will be posted in the club-house before the commencement of the matches. For the third day of the ladies’ golf championship Airs. Guy Williams beat Miss Wray, Atiss Brandon beat Miss Booth, Aliss Gould beat Miss D. Booth, Airs. Orbell beat Miss A. Pearce. the front, but after covering ai furlong Formulate took command, with Royal Scotch and St. Petersburg as nearest attendants. At the willows Royal Scotch,and St. Petersburg were racing together, with Our Queen and Miscount close up and Formulate last. Miscount put in his run at the turning for home, and the trio settled down to business. A great race ensued 1 , Mr Ormond’s colt winning by a. head. Tire weather was fine and the attendance very large for the third day of the A.J.C. Spring meeting at Randwick to-day. The following are the results of the races: ■ Second Hurdle Race, of 300 sovs., about 2) miles.—Jules 10.9-1, Ennisbelie 12.13 2, Fiddlestring 10.6 3. There were ten starters, including Pakau. Won by a length, with six lengths between second and third. Pakau fell. Time: 4min. 45£secs. CRAVEN PLATE, of 2000 sovs., 11 miles. LADY MEDALLIST. 8.13 (Barnett) 1 MALT KING, 9.4 (Black) ... ... 2 ADRQFODXNA, 9.0 (W. H. Smith) 3 There were eleven starters. Cisco iurnped to the front, followed by Malt Kinx>- Beverage and Philo, but when the 'field settled down Comedy King took charge from Cisco, with Beverage and Alalt King his nearest attendants. Cisco was again in front at the nine furlongs with Respect, and l at the "Six furlongs was a length clear of Beverage, with Aurofodina, Comedy King, Alalt King, Los Angelos, and Lady Medallist in that order. There was little change at the half mile, except that Beverage ran into second place and Alalt King into third place. Aurofcdina showed the way round the bend and well into the straight from Cisco, Beverage, Comedy King and Lady Aledallist, but below the Leger stand Lady Medallist put in her claim, and getting a clear run on the rails, landed a clever victory by half a length, with Aurofodina a iength away. Comedy King was fourth and Los Angelos finished in the ruck. Time: 2min 64sec. Suburban Handicap, of 500 sovs., 11miles. —Lager 8.1 1, Kuringai 8.4 2, Bandon Lad 8.0 3.- There were sixteen starters, including Sharpshooter, Chaste and Full Sail. . Blairgour and Volsloane together made the running well into the straight, but the placed horses got together after the distance was reached, and in a good finish Lager won by a neck, Avith a length between second and third. Time: lmin 38^secs. [The rime given is as cabled, hut is obviously incorrect.] Grantham Stakes, of 500 sovs., 1mile.—Ladies’ Alan 1, Popinjay 2, Saint Medoc 3. There were nine starters, who included Pierene. The quickest to move were Bunbury, Malt Blossom and Popinjay, and the last-named took command before the six furlongs was reached, and led into the straight clear of St. Medoc and Ladies’ Alan. The Avinner came Avith a rush at the Leger stand, and in a , clattering finish won by a head. St- Medoc was a good third. Time: lmin 40Jsecs. Gimcraok Stakes, of 500 sovs., for 2-year-olds.—Ventura 1, Simmereen 2, Aurifer 3. There were tAA'enty-six starters. The race needs little description. Tipple Avias the first to show out, but Ventura almost immediately t-ook charge and led round the bend into the straight. She Avas never overhauled, and, Avell-ridden by AlcLachlan, landed 1 a victory by two lengths, with Aurifer a length aAvay. Time: 54J secs.
