LONDON WOOL SALES. MESSRS WILLIAMS AND KETTLE’S ADVICE. (Per Press Association.) NAPIER, Oct. 12. Messrs Williams and Kettle. 'Ltd., have received the following cable advice from their London agents :—• The wool sales have closed with all grades firm at the following prices: For good clean-conditioned lots, halfbred 56’s Is Id (decline Id); fine crossbred 50’s, 11 Id (decline Id); medium coarse crossbred 46’s, 10Jd (decline Id); medium coarse crossbred 44’s, lOd (par) ■ coarse crossbred 40’.% 9|d (decline Id); coarse crossbred 36’s, 91 d (par). The comparison with the closing prices of the July sales is shown in brackets. SPECIAL HORSE SALE SATISFACTORY PRICES REALISED The attendance at the special horse sale held by Messrs Dalgety and Co., and Common Shelton and Co at the Matawhero saleyards yesterday, was decidedly good. The entries totalled about 170, and some very satisfactory prices were realised. A number of good animals of various stamps were yarded, the largest sellers being Messrs James Balfour, of Te Aroha, and W. Graham, of Ngakoroa. ' One pair of carriage cobs were offered on account of Mr Fenwick, hut were passed in at £24. A four-year-old colt by Lock Lomond was offered on account of Mr Cameron, and passed at 40 guineas, aud a 4-year-old filly on account of the same owner, passed in at 30 guineas.
