In the House yesterday the Prime Minister gave a. list of Bills lie proposed -going] on Avitli this session!: — The following is a list: — Auckland University College-'Amend-ment Bill. University of Otago Council Bill. Tramway Amendment Bill Methodist Church' of New Zealand BillArbitration and Conciliation Bill Christchurch District Drainage Amendment Bill. Elingamite Re-hearing Bill Parajpara, Bill (iron industry) Dunedin Technical School Site Bill Shipping and Seamen Amendment * Bill Rating Amendment Bill Land! Tax and Income Tax Bill Public Works Amendment Bill Widows’ Pensions Bill Old Age Pensions Amendment Bill New Zealand State Guaranteed Advanoes Amendment Bill 1 Noav Zealand Notes Bill Education Reserves Bill Auckland Grammar School Site Bill Coal Mines Amendment Bill Farmers’ Bank Bill Railways Authorisation Bill Land for Settlement Bill Stamps Adjustment Bill Local Elections and Polls Amendment BillGovernment Railways Bill (increase of radlwaymen’s Avages) Legislative Amendment Bill Superannuation Amendment- Bill Native Land Adjustment Bill Workers’ Compensation Amendment Bill Mining Amendment Bill (dealing Avith the oil industry) Municipal Corporations Bill, and possibly a few others. With regard to local Bills, he AA T as willing to gh r e a morning for that purpose. In reply to a question he said he did not intend to l circulate the Local Government Bill this sessiom. The measure had been drafted, and contained some 500’ clauses. .He Avas cf opinion the Bill Avould take the Avhole session' to debate. The Bill AA'ould be introduced next session. He Avas eonvenced that the carrying out of.- local government Avas desired to' he done on an entirely different- basis to anything contemplated so' far. He was informed by the Chairman of the Mohan Inquiry Committee that the report of the Inquiry Committee Avould in all probability be presented to the House on WednesdayHe did not propose to go on Avitli any Bills which Avould hot come into operation until after next session. This course would enable the House to expedite more urgent business. Mr. R. B. Ross (Pahiatua) asked Sir J. G. Ward.to put an end to and-corner manner in which Native landis were dealt with. He hoped the Government Avould make pro\*ision to acquire all Native lands which Avere- not being used to' their full 1 capacity. The Prime Minister said the matter AA'Ould he dealt with in land for settlement.
