CHARGED WITH MANSLAUGHTER.
AUCKLAND MOTOR FATALITY. At the conclusion of the inquest concerning the death of Charles Goldsmith, who was knocked down by a taxi-cab at Auckland, the jury returned a verdict (says the P.A.) that death was caused by the collision, due to the negligent driving of John Wm. Mercer. Mercer wasi later arrested and formally charged with manslaughter, and the case was then adjourned.
