NO FURTHER ACTION TILL NEXT
WEEK
(Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Oct. 14. A member of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants informed a reporter this afternoon that a telegram had been received from Messrs T. H. Davey, M.P. and G. Witty, M.P., and L. M. Isitt, M.P., that the Government had changed its mind regarding the hearing of the petition of the second division of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants. The telegram stated that the petition would' be heard some time next week. The news was receiven with general satisfaction by the men, whose meeting of protest to-morrow promised to be of a sensational character. No further action will now be taken until the result of the hearing of the petition is made known.
