NEARING THE END.
PARLIAMENT’S DUTIES
GIMING BILL PROBABLY NOT PROCEEDED WITH.
YFrom our Parliamentary Reporter.) 1 WELLINGTON, Oct. 22. The House sits in the morning to deal with local bills, of which there are twenty-five on the order paper There may be trouble over the Mount Hurt County Bill, and the Otaki County Bill, and there is certain to be strenuous opposition to the Wanganui Harbor Board Bill, and perhaps another, or two, but the others are likely to go through without much difficulty, and may be disposed of by noon, when the morning sitting is timed to end. If all the local bills are passed, or thrown out, Jiy that time, the House may have an afternoon off. The Mokau report and the Gaming Bill are numbers 4 and 5 on the order pa]>er, after the local bills, and the probabilities are that tlie latter will not be proceeded with.
