A curious legal action was (heard at Nouchatel in Switzerland. To find out the character and reputation of a young man who had 1 asked for liis daughter’s hand, a well-to-do tradesman applied to a private detective agency, «>nd on receiving favourable information he consented to the marriage, and gave his daughter £4OO as a dowry. The young man, who in reality, had a bad reputation, spent the £4OO in dissipation, and neglected and finally deserted his wife, who returned l to- her home. The tradesman brought an action against the agency to recover the £4OO, alleging negligence and misrepresentation. He won the case. Footballers and hockey players! At the close of your strenuous games, make straight for the Grey Street Baths. A nice warm bath will remove all traces of stiffness. Follow this up with a cold shower, and you will feel fit to play for New Zealand. You can take your bath in comfort and with pleasure at Harry Hull's.*
