An interesting outcome attended tlio complaint of two Southland residents who were involved in a coaching accident between Rotorua and Tauranga. The Postmaster-General state® that postmasters* are required by regulation to report any mail conveyance out of repair, unsafe, or discreditable to the service; the absence of necessary harness (breeching straps, etc.), or the use of worn-out harness; the overcrowding of coaches, horses unfit for their work, or in a discreditable condition ; drivers or mail carriers unsteady or otherwise untrustworthy, or under 1G years of age, or in any way unfit.
