ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.

WAS IT SUICIDE ? (Per Press Association.) CARTERTON, Oct. 24. News was received in Carterton at a late hour last night that a man named Harry Scott was found at Te Wharau in an unconscious condition with a bullet wound in his head. The Carterton police, accompanied by a medical man, went out, and/ the man was conveyed to Masterton hospital. The wound over the left eye was inflicted by a pea rifle, which was lying close beside the body. The circumstances point to suicide, but no cause is assigned for the deed- The man was aged about 45, and w r ell-known in the Wairarapa. He is still unconscious, but is sinking fast. Later. Scott died while on the road into Masterton hospital from Wharau. The body is being brought to Carterton for the inquest.
