A case of determined suicide occurred near Akaroa yesterday, afternoon, the victim being an old i-esident of the Peninsular," named John Wilkin. Deceased was in the habit of taking a daily stroll, not returning till late in the day, and no notice was taken of his absence. IVo of his sons, however, when returning from work, found their father hanging by the neck in a whar.e, quite dead. Deceased had been suffering from illhealth recently, and expressed his intention of ending his life if affected again.'.
