SUMMARY and forecast,
(Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Oct. 26
Northerly and westerly winds, strong 'to gale, have prevailed with gloomy and wet weather generally. The barometer has fallen everywhere, and present indications are for rain in all parts of the country. The barometer will probably fall for a. short time, but a rise is duo in the south within from 24 to 36 hours, when the winds will change to southward and increase, with colder weather. Strong northerly and westerly winds are probable in the meantime, though a temporary lull in parts is duo to two low pressure areas somewhat neutralising each other.
