A POOR DEMAND
Messrs Williams and Kettle offered a .number of properties for sale on behalf of various owners at- His Majesty’s Theatre on Saturday. The goodwill of thei lease of the Education Reserve at Nuhalca, of an are a of 315 acres, offered on behalf of the late- Mr. A. F. Kennedy, was passed inn at £SO. A section in Pitt Street, adjoining the Tura-n----ga-nui Hotel- belonging to the same estate, consisting of 1 rood 17£ perches-, was knocked down to Mr. F. Hall at £2IOO. Sections 105 and 106. Clifford Street, were passed in. at £370 and £220 respectively. Two quarter-acre sections, Nos. 6 and 7, at. Endclifle, were passed in, the first only eliciting an- offer of £l2O. “Budlaigli Villa,” Palmerston Road, was withdrawn- at £ISOO. A section containing 1 acre 2 roods 14 perches, adjoining Heatherlea. Kaiti, with house, outbuildings, and orchard, was also- withdrawn at £570. For a section with a. f-rootage- to Darwin Road and! the Waimata River. 2 acres 0 roods 8 perches, £325 was offered, but this was declined. Fifteen Sections fronting the Waiiimi Road were then offered on account of Mr. F. Hall, blit"All were withdrawn. A similar fate, was meted out to sections 1,3, ■4 5, and 16, Graham and Irabui roads, an offer of £2lO for section- 1 being refused. The sale was t-lien brought to a- close 1 , sections ini Clifford Street, Ormond Road, Fox Street, and Russell Street being withdrawn.
