A Press Association report from Wellington states that owing to the pressure of business, Sir Joseph Ward has postponed his departure for the couth for two or three days. Tli© Rev. Jas. B. He speaks at Levin on Monday evening. At the Tokcanaru Post Office yesterday afternoon a presentation was made to‘Mr. Herbert V. Farlie, who is leaving the Post and Telegraph Department to"take- up a position at the freezing works. Mr. Williams, on behalf of the staff, made the presentation of a handsome set of razors, and said that all members of the staff regretted that Mi Farlie was severing has connection with the office after three years’ close association with it. He, however, wished the recipient all success m his future occupation. Mr. Williams also on behalf of the townspeople, presented Mr. Farlie with a gold chain and pendant, and silver English Rotherham watch as a mark of esteem in which he- was held. Mr. Farlie mutably responded. Mr. Farlie is a son ft ' Herbert Farlie, well known in the lokomanr district, and he- is a young mail who has made himself thoroughly liked by all the townspeople and others v ltn • whom he came in contact.
