Dobcnham, Ston and Sous, at King Street, Covent Garden, and tiie ternule crime of her murder and the many unprecedented circumstances surrounding- it were t-ueieby vividly recalled to mind. The personal belongings of the variety actress were taken possession of by her husband, H. H. .Crippen,, and either given or bequeathed at his death to Ethel Do Neve, who was acquitted of any share in the murder of Mrs. Crippen. The sister of Bello Elmore contested tlie will of the murderer, with the result that the goods passed into her possession, and it was on her instructions that they wore offered for disposal by public auction-. The following were the articles offered, for sale and the prices thc-y realised: A large single-stone brilliant ring. £65 A smaller ditto, £25. Ditto, £23. A five-stum* h-illiant and ruby ring, £l3. • A paste butterfly brooch, £1 7s. A fancy paste bow brooch, and' ditto watch in case, £2 Bs. \ 13->stone brilliant flaming-sun brooch £2O. It was. to the last article that the most interest attached. It is a beautiful specimen of tlie jeweller’s art in the form of a rising sun, and its importance at the trial was that it was shown to have been worn by Miss Le Neve, after the murder, at a ball she attended with Crippen. There was a large number of dealers present, and the Crippen relies were all Ikilight quickly. It is interesting to note that the £65 brilliant ring was purchased by Air. H. Harris, of Hounsditeh, the burglary at whose premises last year led to the Hounsditch murders, and indirectly to tlie Sydney Street siege.
