LSPECIAL TO TIMESJ CHRISTCHURCH, Nov. 1

A good number of horses were out before breakfast, hut it being an off morning there was not a great deal of work done. Iranui, who arrived yesterday, was sent for a mile gallop, which she ran in linin' 52sec, and Madam Madcap put up a good performance bv covering the same distance in lmin 44sec. The Stewards’ Handicap mare is well at present, and she finished up her task in a pleasing manner. Undecided galloped the last six of seven furlongs in lmin 17sec, and Gipsy Belle sprinted four furlongs in 56 l-ssec. Hawick and Espartero went once round over the hurdles in lmin 50s.ee, and Dearest left five furlongs behind in 1 min 5 l-ssec. Goldfinder, who moved rather scratchily, was sent twice round, the tan at steady pace, and Los Angelos was restricted to half pace work. Early Morn covered the last three furlongs of a half-mile gallop in 38sec, and St. Felix and St. Petersburg galloped six furlongs in lmin 19sec, the last five furlongs occupying lmin 5 3-5 sec. Goodwin Park ran a mile and a half in 2min 47 3-ssec, the last four furlongs in 53sec. Cory and Miss Fry went six furlongs in lmin 25sec, and Dan Leno and Kilosteri covered half a mile in 53sec.
