A good number of horses were out before breakfast, hut it being an off morning there was not a great deal of work done. Iranui, who arrived yesterday, was sent for a mile gallop, which she ran in linin' 52sec, and Madam Madcap put up a good performance bv covering the same distance in lmin 44sec. The Stewards’ Handicap mare is well at present, and she finished up her task in a pleasing manner. Undecided galloped the last six of seven furlongs in lmin 17sec, and Gipsy Belle sprinted four furlongs in 56 l-ssec. Hawick and Espartero went once round over the hurdles in lmin 50s.ee, and Dearest left five furlongs behind in 1 min 5 l-ssec. Goldfinder, who moved rather scratchily, was sent twice round, the tan at steady pace, and Los Angelos was restricted to half pace work. Early Morn covered the last three furlongs of a half-mile gallop in 38sec, and St. Felix and St. Petersburg galloped six furlongs in lmin 19sec, the last five furlongs occupying lmin 5 3-5 sec. Goodwin Park ran a mile and a half in 2min 47 3-ssec, the last four furlongs in 53sec. Cory and Miss Fry went six furlongs in lmin 25sec, and Dan Leno and Kilosteri covered half a mile in 53sec. Vice-Admiral, looking very well, went once round on the tail, and sprinted the last three furlongs in 39 4-ssec. Red, AVliite, and Blue went two rounds at half pace, and Glenfield and Gaelic did a schooling task over the hurdles. Peirene did good work, and Rangitatua sprinted four furlongs. Frank ran half a mile in 51sec, and Equitas covered the last three of four furlongs in 3Ssec. Beldane ran half a mile in 50 3-ssec, a distance tnat took Emma 53sec to negotiate. Puketai ran the last five furlongs in lmin 7sec, and ran three-quarters of a mile in 1 min 24 4-ssec. Others who did steady work included Miss Mischief, Gnome, Canute, Lady Georgia, Ahuapai, Ireland, Patriotic, St. Toney, Dazzling, Domino, Formby, Outward, Stepmeter, Winning Way, Coroniform, Ermegarde, Royal Scotch, San Lass, Crosbie, Expansion, Kauaroa. Prim, Ebonite, Outlander, Bliss, Martine, Counterfeit, Masterpiece, Massilia, Bandore, Tannliauser, Pert, Cronstadt, Somersault, Avarice, Query, Electrakoff, St. Aidan, Merrivonia, and Clanmena.
