STOCK RAISERS’ MEETINGS.
DURING MANIAWATU SHOW WEEK
(Per Press Association.) PALMERSTON,.N., Nov. 2. A meeting of New Zealand draught horse breeders was held this evening, when about fifty were present from all parts of the North and South Island. Mr Booth presided. The meeting expressed itself in favor of the continuance and supporting of the New Zealand Draught Horse l Stud Book, at present published by the Canterbury A. and P. Association, and that the meeting appoint Mr Alexander, of New Plymouth, as delegate to represent the West Coast breeders to confer with the Canterbury Society re combining the North Island With the South annual meeting.
The New Zealand Ayrshire Cattle Breeders’ Association held its annual meeting to-night, Mr J. Kyle presiding over thirty members from all parts of the. Dominion. The election of officers resulted): F. Wilkie, ' Hawera, president; treasurer, C. Woodly Newbury, Palmerston; auditor, J. G. Garter, Porirua; secretary, E. C'. Bensemann, Nelson; committee, A. C. Johnstone (Auroa), K. E. Mills (Tokaanu), W. P. Harre (Rata), J. J. Carter (Nelson) G. Buchanan (Longburn), H. H. Olsen (Egmont Village), J. Linton (Feilding). Mr J. Kyle, retiring president, was presented with a gold, watch for past services. At a meeting < r the N.Z. Sheep Breeders’ Association to-day Mr P. A. MeHardy was elected chairman owing to the death of Mr G. C. Wheeler.
