OAKLAND MAN ATTRACTS BIG CROWD IN TACOMA.

George W. Jessup, a young scholarly appearing nxan from Oakland and an admitted “Sun Worshiper,” attracted a large crowd, when he stood on the corner of Ninth and C streets for half an hour praying to the rising sun. The crowd assumed such proportions that the police were called and two detectives led Jessup away. Jessup came to Raymond from Oakland to visit an elderly woman friend, who is a member of the Young Women’s Christian Association.. He came to Tacoma with hor. When arrested his companion followed him to the station and said she would make arrangements to take him- to Portland, and either the Young Men’s Christian Association or the Young Women’s Christian Association there would arrange to return him to Oakland. She was given the custody of Jessup. When taken to the Union station, however, he refused to go fatrher. He was then returned to the City gaol. Jessup will be cured! for by members of the Young Men’s Christian Association and returned to his home in Oakland.
