RE-NAMING THE CRUISER.
PREMIER'S WISH COMPLIED WITH.
(Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Nov. 3
In consequence of the new Dreadnought cruiser taking the name “New Zealand,” the Admiralty had to rechristen the warship already bearing that name, and it was proposed to make the alteration to “Caledonian.” Sir Joseph Ward, when in London, suggested that this course should net be followed, and proposed “Zealandia” as the substitute. He received a cablegram to-day from the Admiralty stating that liis suggestion had been followed.
