Six men -were Killed and ten wounded at Kiangnan arsenal, in consequence of tlie rebels dynamiting the gates, which the loyalists defended, in order to cover the escape of the director in charge. Revolutionaries at Shanghai are distributing new rifles to allcomers, on condition that they wear the rebel badge. An Imperial edict issued appeals for concord between the Chinese and Manohus, and approves of Yuan Shill Kai temporarily suspending hostilities.
GENERAL ELECTIONS CALLED.
REBELS RECOGNISED
(Received Nov. 6, 9.35 p.m.) PEKING, Nov. 6. An edict directs the Assembly to hold general elections. It agrees to the recognition of the rebels as a political party, and states the revolutionaries are different to wicked rebels of former dynasties. The damage at Hankow from the fires on Monday amounted to five million sterling. There were further fires on Thursday, when two miles* by half a mile was devastated. Blind boys at the Wesleyan mission made a remarkable oscape.
