INDUSTRIAL DISPUTES
(Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Nov. 8. In the Conciliation Council to-day an agreement was arrived at on all points in the furniture trades dispute, Wanganui being the only centre yet to come in. The number of hours are 44, and the minimum wage Is 4*d. pei hour. Wages for apprentices have been increased to 2s per first year, and 3s each year for the remainder of apprenticeship. The tramways dispute has also been settled, agreements having been reached on all points. Mr D. Moriarty, representing furniture trades workers, and Mr A. J. Bishop, representing the employers, warmly eulogised the work of Commissioner P. Hally.
A SEAMAN DROWNED. AUCKLAND, Nov. 8. Frank Neilsen, a seaman on the barque Triton, was drowned in the harbor to-night. He was stepping to hrs vessel from the railway wharf when he slipped and fell into the water.
