By the s.s. Tarawera yesterday there came to hand for Mr F. C. Fiddy six purebred Indian Runner ducks. These birds are quite distinguished, as they were, the winner’s of the New Zealand Utility Poultry Club’s egg-laying competition at Christchurch last year, and also came out first at the Wen ter and Studhokne tests. The birds were purchased from Mr. W. Knight, of Waiponga, Wellington, and were bred from eludes imported from Mr. Howell, of Sydney. Children are paid at" the rate of Id per quart for flies by the municipal authorities of Baltimore. From George 1. to George V. In 1715, Martell began to be known for the best Brandy.
