The Conciliation Council resumed their sittings yesterday, when the general laborers’ dispute was further considered. Only a partial agreement was arrived at, and a number of points were reserved for the Arbitration Court. The clauses settled are: Hours of work, suburban- work, tools, 'piecework, holidays, underrate workers, payment of wages, and scope of award. The matters referred to the Court of Arbitration are: Waves, overtime, country work in so far as refers to additional pay for country work, th" union asking Is 6d per day extra, while the employers offer Is, preference to unionists, exemption for existing contracts, and term of award.
