THE ANTI-MILITARIST APPEAL. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Nov. 10. A public meeting in the Town Ha' 1 to-night, called by the anti-militur sis, was very rowdy, the peakers being given a very bad time. There ware frequent interruptions and uproar. Ur. R. B. Ross moved a motion to the effect that the meeting disapproved of the conscriptive Defence Act, and demanded its immediate repeal. An amendment was moved by Mr. S. A. Atkinson, expressing the opinion that compulsory military training was essential for the defence of New Zealand. This was put to the meeting and carried. The gathering closed with tlie singing of tlie National Anthem.
