PREPAREDNESS FOR WAR
(United Press Association—Copyright.) MELBOURNE, Nov. 10. Speaking at the Lord Mayor’s banquet, Admiral Bosanquet said: “However milch avc may favor international arbitration, recent oA’ents show that Ave are still obliged to reluctantly admit that preparedness for war is the best guarantee of peace, and the guns of the British fleet are the best security against aggression.” The. launch of the cruiser Australia, he said, was one of the noteworthy events of the year. He hoped that in a. few years Australia Aviotuld liave a fleet able to guarantee the integrity of her shores. Admiral King Hall declared that Australia had adopted the right policy m creating a separatf naval force. He advocated a definite naval programme. Australia in future should not be content to send money Home for naval construction. She should loolc ahead.
