Mr. W. Forbes, independent Opposition candidate for Taranaki, Avho formally announced and opened his campaign against Mr . Jennings in the Taumarunui electorate, addressed a big meeting of electors in the Theatre Royal to-night. He vigorously criticised the administration of the present Government, and declared his support of deferred payment system, land tenure and co-operative system. Co-operative Avorks were an absolute farce, and he applied the same remark to the local option issue, and declared for national prohibition on the bare majority. He received a good hearing, hut towards the close a section of the audience was in a sportive mood, and it Avas a long time before e\ r en a vote of thanks Avas forthcoming. . PREMIER’S BUSY TIME. INVERCARGILL, Nov. 10: Sir J. Ward was again busy to-day, visiting different parts of the electorate, and he addressed six meetings. He has not returned to town to-night.
