VESSELS IN PORT.

Messrs. Huddart, Parker and Co/s Victoria arrived in the roadstead at an early hour on Saturday morning from southern ports. She was tendered at the usual hours, and proceeded to Auckland, via Tokomaru Bay, about noon. Messrs. Richardson and Co.’s Koutunui took her departure for Auckland, via East Coast ports, late on Saturday afternoon.

The Union Co.’s cargo steamer Kowhai arrived from the South on Saturday, bringing the following cargo:—From Greymouth: 26,807 ft timber for G. Smith, 16,866 ft for Evans, Nield, and Co., 11,809 ft for Aicken and Son, 15,531 ft for Black Bros. From Dunedin: 5 cases tea, sacks chaff, 96 sacks oats, 158 sacks potatoes, 107 sacks ryegrass, 4 ranges, 75 boxes soap, 6 cases jam, 22 packages sundries. From Oamaru: 150 sacks. 80 100’s, and 280 50’s flour, 15 200’s pollard, 200 sacks potatoes, 14 140’s bran. From Timaru: 120 sacks (25’s) and 240 50’s flour. 13 sacks wheatmeal. She returns to Greymouth to-day. The Shaw, Savill, and Albion Co.’s liner Kia Ora is expected to commence meat-loading operations to-day, and is due to clear this port for Napier tomorrow. She has completed her wool loading. The Union S.S. Co.’s Haupiri arrived from Napier at 2 o’clock on Saturday afternoon, and berthed at 7 p.m. The steamer landed a consignment of chaff for this port, and left at 9 a.m. yesterday morning for the Coast, to load wool for transhipment to the Nerehena at Gisborne.

The Union S.S. Co.’s collier Hanna, which arrived at Gisborne on Friday last from Newcastle, via Auckland, landed 500 tons of coal here, and left at midnight on Saturday for Napier. The Union S.S. Co.’s Mokoia, which left Auckland at 3.30 o’clock on Saturday afternoon, made a good passage down the Coast. The steamer connected with Tokomaru, and arrived in the roadstead at 2 o’clock yesterday afternoon. She continued her passage south at 6 o’clock last evening. The Union Co.’s Tuatea leaves this morning early for Pakarae to bring down a load of wool for transhipment to the Kia Ora at Gisborne.
