P.B. CLUB, DOUGLAS’ CREW WIN TRIAL FOURS. The final of the first Trial Fours was rowed on Saturday evening, when U. Douglas, F. Snowden, V. Somervell, and D. Grey defeated C. Clark, W. Griffen, E. Simpson, and E. Wildish, after a very exciting race. 'Clark got the best of the start, but did not keep in the lead for long, and Douglas was about a length and a half to the good at Roebuck Road bridge. Just past the footbridge both crews were putting m solid wcrk,. C. Clark gaining a little, and at Nesbitt s ietty there was only about half a length difference. Douglas then increased the gap to about a length, and here again the crews started in. earnest lor the post, but Douglas managed to win by about i in 1 4-1%
