ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.

SXTDDEN DEATH AT RAKAUROA.

Advice was communicated, to Mr W. A. Barton, district coroner, yesterday, that a man named James Kennedy, who is stated to have been between thirty and thirty-two years of age, was found dead in a tent he had been living m, at Rakauroa, at 6 a.m. that morning. It appears that the deceased was emploved as a navvy on the railway line, where he had been engaged for some time. When at the Post Office getting his mail on the previous evening he showed no signs of being unwell, and exhibited no signs of downheartedness. His body was discovered in his tent in the morning by some of his mates. .Deceased was a single man. Instructions ivere given for a post mortem examination to be made, and an inquest is to be held before Mr G. Redpath, J.P. this morning. Information received during the afternoon Avas to the effect that the body was going black.

HEART FAILURE

(Per Press Association.) DUNEDIN, Nov. 14

While engaged in discharging cargo from the • Whakatane this afternoon John Gresty, a married Plan residing in Leith street, was overtaken by heart seizure, and expired before a medical man arrived. Deceased was recently treated for heart’ trouble.
