EAST COAST RAILWAY.

PROGRESS OF M(STU SECTION. LSPECIAE TO TIMES J AUCKLAND, Nov. 16. The Auckland Railways League’s Commissioner at the Alotu section has sent the following report to the Leaquo: “With the recent long period of fine dry weather steady progress has been made with this railway section, and specially with the Otoko viaduct, the construction of. which, by Alessrs Griffiths and Co., of Westport, is nearing completion. The iron girders have been placed in position, enabling one to walk across. There are fears that the strike in Sydney might interfere with the shipment of the stringers to be laid on the girders to carry the sleepers, and thereby causing some little delay should the viaduct be ready. It is not improbable that excursion trains will be run up the large filling or to Rakauroa Bridge at Christmas time.”
