REBELLION OF 30,000 TROOPS
PARLIAMENT OPENED
(United Press Association—Copyright.) OTTAWA, Nov. 16. The Duke of Connaught opened Parliament in state. There wias a briPiant scene. The Speech from the Throne foreshadowed Government control of the grain elevators on the Great Lakes, model highways throughout the provinces, scientific methods of teaching agriculture, and the formation of a tariff commission to govern the alterations of tariff oni a scientific basis. The Liberal Government was defeated in Prince Edward Island in two byThe Premier, Mr Palmer, has lost his seat. The Government contemplate antiAsiatic legislation with the view of keeping the Pacific coast white. Representations have been made to the Dominion Administration! by the Government of British. Columbia with a view to greater restrictions. Mr. Borden agreed' to make representations to the Colonial Office.
