ENTERTAINMENTS.

HARRY RICKARDS’ VAUDEVILLE COMPANY.

IVIr Harry Rickards’ Vaudeville Company arrive by the-Tarawera this morning in charge of Mr. George Poftus, andJ will 1 make their first appearance at His Majesty’s Theatre to-night. The programme this evening promises many novelties. The names prominently featured .are those holding leading positions on the Vaudeville stage in England and America-, and have appeared with signal success in Australia. A better all-round- company lias seldom come across, the Tasman seas. It is conceded on all sides that the artists are so brilliant that they make up a galaxy of talent brighter than anything we have had in New Zealand for many years.- The Auckland “Herald” says: —“Novelty is the keynote of trie music-cum-comedy 'turn’ submitted by Binns and Binns. Their playing on various instruments will deliglit the musically inclined. Ini their comedy they utilise several minor mechanical effects that are both clever and original, besides which their “gags” and “business” are 'not hoary with age. It'is a decidedly amusing performance which these two artists provide. • Two English artists, finished in their comedy and astonishingly smart and nimble in their dancing, are Messrs Clarke and Most-el. _ Their introductory, “patter” is refreshingly new, and really funny. Nothing so up-to-date in the way of step-dancing has been soon on. this side of the world, their double song and break-down being quite surprisingly clever. Both indulge in lightninglike movements, almost impossible to follow.
