The new prison farm at Tokamii is to l>e opened by Sir John Findlay, u Minister for Justice. on November 24th. An area of about -5000 acres lias been scoured by the Government, auci is divided between the new central mental hospital and the reformatory prison farm. About 1200 acres have heen selected for the commencement of the reformatory scheme, and the selection of prisoners for transfer to the farm has been in progress for some time. The idea is to put young prisoners and first offenders, who show premise of complete reformation, on tie farm.
