Air. Meagher, Chairman of Committees of the Assembly, is claiming £2OOO damages against Colonel Onslow, a member of the Assembly, for alleged slander during the Liverpool Plains byelection campaign. It is complained that defendant at a public meeting said the Labor party had selected a criminal as Chairman of Committees. The case is proceeding.
