"When Victoria resumed their final innings this morning the wicket was in good order, but there were few spectators. , ' • Laver and Carkeek, the not out men, started very carefully, but .before Laver could improve his overnight score he was bowled by Douglas, who later got Carkeek out leg before. The play lasted only 40 runs, 19 runs being added to yesterday’s score, making the total 229, and leaving the Englishmen victorious by 49 runs. The innings occupied 217 minutes. The total takings for the match were £1077. The Englishmen left for Sydney to-day. and commence their match against New South Wales on Friday.
