HINTS FOR THE HOME.

It is not generally known that a postage stamp will mend a bicycle puncture temporarily. The tube thus mended will keep up many miles. If a boiled custard gets too hot, and is likely to curdle, place the saucepan in a basinful of cold water, and beat the custard very quickly. When ironing place a brick in the oven to get hot enough; then, instead of standing the iron on a cold ironstand, stand it on tho brick. It will keep hot, saving a great deal of time and trouble. Au excellent savoury may be quickly made by lining patty-tins with thin slices of cheese. Into each break an egg, cover with grated cheese, then pile high in the centre with breadcrumbs. Bake in a hot oven till a golden brown. Serve very hot.
