HIGH COMMISSIONER’S CABLE

The High Commissioner’s cable, dated London, 25th November, stag's: “The mutton market is very firm. There is a small supply. Canterbury it at 4)d, North Island 4d. The lam)} market is quiet. The weather lately has been very unfavorable to the sone of lamb. Canterbury 5), other than Canterbury Beef is better in demand, and prices are firm. New Zealanders hindquarters 3)d, forequarters 2}d. The butter market ,s veiy iii-m. There is a general and active demand. The average prices for the week are: For choicest New 'Se.iland 1325, Australian 1295, Danish 137 5, Siberian 1255, and Argentina 130 s. The cheese market is steady, with a ury good demand. The average prices for the week arc: For the finest New Zei, land GSs, Canadian 70s, English chuddar 90s. The hemp market remains firm, hut there is a limited demmcl. New Zealand, good fair grade, £2O, fair grade £l9, fair current Manna £2O. The output from Maila tor the week was 266,000 bales. Tim wool market is steady for good sorts. Trices are firm at last quotations. LONDON MARKETS. The Now Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., are in receipt of the following cable from their London office :—Market firmer for mutton ; more inquiry for lamb; slightly improved for beef.
