CLAY PIGEON AIATCH
A clay pigeon shooting match was held at' Te Karalca on Thursday for Alessrs. Nicholls and Griffiths’ trophy. Sixteen shooters faced the mark, and after a very close contest Air. H. W. Mortimer was declared the winner with 6 kills out of S. The thanks of the club are due to donors of trophies, which add greatly to the sport of clay pigeon shooting.

A CHAAIPIONSHIP AIEETING
(Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Nov. 27. An enthusiastic gathering of marksmen was held here this evening, when it was decided to form a Wellington Rifle Association for the purpose of holding a prize meeting at Trentham on New Teak's Day and the day following. This step has been taken as the Garrison Rifle Association will not be able to conduct its usual New Year’s meeting, on account of the changes taking place in the defence forces. The meeting will be open to all rifle clubmen and territorials, and a prize list on a liberal scale hitherto unattempted will he provided, with a view to attracting entries from all parts of both Islands. There will be six matches ; each will he a ten-shot event, the distances decided being three, five, six, eight, and nine hundred and one thousand yards. There will be a champion teams match, seven shots, at three, five, and six hundred yards. A strong committee lias been elected, and full details will be arranged at a subsequent meeting.
