ELEPHANT'S TRIENNIAL SNEEZE.

Daisy lias sneezed, and ail is quiet again at the 80-stock Jungle at the White City, London. Daisy is the rug Indian elephant, and she sneezes but once every three years. On the last occasion 'it was Vienna which Daisy honored with the sneeze. At the White City crowds of people waited for hours during the past week for the great event. It occurred on Monday exactly vat half-past three, when a party of schoolboys were watching the animal. Suddenly Daisy uttered a scream, stood on her hind legs, gave a roar that shook the Jungle to its foundations, and spurted a stream of water on to the luckless schoolboys. The force of the sneeze brought Daisy’s head into contact with the harrier, smashing it to matchwood. Pieces of plaster fell from the ceiling, four windows were broken, an electric light cluster was smashed, and Dick Daisy’s terrier companion, bolted from tlie Jungle, and lias not been seen since. Daisy lay down immediately after her sneeze and went to sleep. She will not sneeze again for three years.
