The Thursday competition was continued at the Domain yesterday, when Alhambra secured a two-point win from United 15 and Y.M.C.A. secured a three-point win from United A. UNITED B. v. ALHAMBRA. ' This match was continued on the concrete wicket, and resulted in a two-]K>int win for Alhambra. As m their previous innings, United’s scoring capacity was confined practically to one man, while Alhambra’s bowling was also largely due to one mans efforts. Gibson was in fine batting form and notched up a neat little total of 157 when lie was caught in the sl.ps by Olsen. Included in his hits were, two 6’s, dean out of the ground, and thirty 4's. Off one over he scored 22. For Alhambra Lang was the most successful batsman, his total amounting to 87. "When this match was resumed United A.' were in for their second innings, liaving six wickets down. They weie again short-handed, only nine men turning up, and all were out for <3, which "with their first innings total of 89, left Y.M.C.A. wanting, 11 to secure a three-point win. This they did without less of a wicket, and the team was then allowed to have a practice knock, making 92, the principal scorers being H. Jones 17, M. Edwards 10 and E. 'Wuld 13. In United’s second innings Hallamo.ru only increased his over-week score bv one. before being out lbw for 17, and H. Maude was the not-out man with 10 to his credit.

POVERTY GAY CLUB. ANNUAL MATCH. The members of the Poverty Bay Club played their annual cricket mated at Taruheru yesterday, when sick-s chosen by tlie President (Mr C’has. Gray) and the Vice-President (Mr A. H. AY all is) opjiosocl each other. The game started at 11.30 a.ni., lG.a-side being played. The Vice-President s team had first use of the wickets, but made a poor stand against the bowling of A. AY. Pees, who captured C. H. Williams, A. J. Henderson, and E. V. Palmer in his first over, and altogether secured eleven wickets for 33 runs. P. E. Barton was the only batsman to shape confidently, and he made a number of good strokes in scoring 32. The President’s team ran tip the good total of 179 in going to the wickets. H. B. Williams' played a most attractive innings for 69, timing the ball well and getting plenty of power behind his strokes. S. M. Palmer (25) and H. Kenway (20) also batted well. Henderson (four for 14), G. Coop (two for 9), Stock (one for 3), and E. V. Palmer (three for 44) were the most successful trundlcrs for the Vice-President’s team. The President’s team thus won by HO runs, only one innings each being played. The match, as usual, proved a very enjoyable one. Luncheon was partaken of on the ground, and there was a large attendance of lady friends of the members to witness the play during the afternoon.
