GLEBE MURDER MYSTERY.

MOIR COMMITTED FOR TRIAL.

EVIDENCE OF CONFESSION

(United Press Association—Copyright.) (Received Dec. 1, 6.10 p.m.) SYDNEY, Nee. 1. The Coroner to-day sentenced Moir to trial for the murder of Trevascus.

Constable Ramsay gave evidence that while Moir was detailed at the Melbourne lockup lie asked him how he got into this trouble. Moir replied: “I will tell you in confidence/’ and went on to say that on State Saturday before the murder lie met a man named Cordrien and proposed to him to rob Trevascus. On the morning of the murder they visited Trevascus, and be (Moir) introduced Cordrien. When Trevascus’ back was turned Cordrien hit him on the head with an iron bar and he fell to the floor. Moir then went downstairs and borrowed a paper from the girl Levy. He did this as a blind. As lie left the building he watched till Cordrien came up, who gave Moir £25 of the £SO got from Trevascus. He supposed Cordrien had cut Trevascus’ throat, but he did not see him. Before separation they agreed if either were caught the other would not “squeak” to the police. Evidence was given that all efforts to trace Moir’s alleged accomplice had been fruitless.
