[A D VERTISEMENT. ] MR. W. D. LYSNAR’S STATEMENTS

[To the Editor.]

SIR, —Tho above appeared in your issue of this morning. Respecting; Bishop Julius, I know him when lie first arrived in Christchurch. His opinions have greatly altered since he made the statement. Why did not Mr. Lysnar have the candour to state that Bishop Julius recently took part in tho No-License Conference and presided at !• large No-License Meeting as its warm supporter. As to Rev. L- M. Isitt. I was Treasurer of the first Prohibition League in the Dominion formed at Christchurch. Tho late lamented T. E. Taylor was on the Committee and Rev. Isitt President. I have been present at all his meetings in Gisborne, and am CERTAIN he never made such a statement as that imputed to him by Mr. Lysnar. Unless tho statements as to Bislmn Julius’ lot-tea* were made LONG SINCE, T doubt its correctness. J. RECKONER.

Perhaps you may live many .miles from a Doctor, then you cannot do better than have a bottle of Martell’s Brandy on hand. Prohibition would prevent this, and you must pay the Doctor every time he prescribes brandy.* A MISTAKEN NOTION. There is a prevailing opinion that it is dangerous to stop diarrhoea too suddenly. That may be the case when an astringent medicine is used, but there is not the least danger of stopping it too quickly when Chamberlain’s Colic, Cholera and Diarrhoea Remedy is taken, as it is not an astringent, and stops the diarrhoea by curing the disease that caused it. As a rule only two or three doses are required, but in very severe cases a whole bottle is sometimes needed. Sold by E. D. Smith, Chemist, Gisborne.
