[per PRESS ASSOCIATION.] AUCKLAND, Dee. 6. At a meeting of tramway employees this morning, it was decided to give 14 days’ notice of their intention to strike unless their demands were conceded. This is subject to confirmation at a meeting of the balence of the employees to-night. WANGANUI COLLEGE. WANGANUI, Dec. G. At a meeting of the Education Board yesterday, Mr. W. A. Armour, at present assistant master of tho Otago Boys’ High School, was appointed principal of the Wanganui Technical College. There were 25 applicants from all parts of the Dominion. A FALSE CLAIM. ELTHAM, Dec. 6, At the Magistrate’s Court* to-day D. F. Patterson, charged with sending in a claim for enrolment containing false statements on behalf of another person, was fined £2 and costs. CHRISTCHURCH, Dec. 6. Tho Canterbury Jockey Club has decided to instal a 10s totalisator at the summer moeting. The C.J.C. committee has upheld the appeal of G. Cudby (owner), C. Pritchard (trainer), and Coleman (rider) against tho disqualification in connection with tho running of Gold Bird in the Hurdle Race at the recent meeting. Tho stewards of tho club, having additional evidence, concurred in the removal of the disqualification.
