.. 1 " "* [per press association.] MASTERTON, Dee. 7.. Prideaux Tancrcd, well-known in sport-ino- circles, was found dead m tno room of a house here yesterday afternoon. He bad a strap roiind his neck, and bad evidently committed suicide some hours before- being found. Deceased was suffering from what he considered an incurable complaint, and bad been in melancholy spirits for some months. A man named Greenback, a publican afc Blairlogie Junction, died suddenly yesterday afternoon, on the road to Master ton. WELLINGTON, Dec. 7. Patrick Keegan, who was found lying at the foot of a ladder at the gas works early on Sunday morning, and ■was removed to the hospital with a fractured skull, died yesterday. An inquest wall be held to-morrow. Archibald Buchanan, proprietor of the Ross private hotel, in Vivian street, was found in an outhouse at the hack of the building with ihis throat cut. Lying on the floor beside him were a razor ancl a penknife. From appearances Buchanan had used the razor on himself. He was attended by Dr. Gibbes, and subsequently removed to hospital. Very little hope Tor his recovery is held out. TIMARU, Dec. 7. Annie Green, aged 41, a nurse who had been three years at Timaru, was admitted to hospital this morning with a cut in her throat. She attempted suicide through overwork and worry. Her condition is not' serious.
