The executive committee of the Navy Longue at a meeting towards the end of last year adopted a resolution advocating the laying down, as a minimum, of two capital ships to every one commenced hy the next strongest naval Power, and the maintenance of the proper complement of men, vessels of other classes, stores, and armaments. Another resolution reecommonded that the expenditure should be met hy a naval loan if it should 1 prove to be necessary to adopt the course.
