[united press association—copyright] LONDON, Dec. S.
Lord Morley, replying to Lord Curzon. respecting Persia, said that the Imperial Government’s policy was to maintain the Anglo-Russian Convention. They would mediate benevolently, and if Britain and Russia kept together he believed they would soon see a solution of the difficulty. Russia had no intention of supporting the ex-Shah, and Sir Edward Grey had warned Russia that it was impossible for Britain under any circumstances to recognise him. (Received December 10, 5.5 p.m.) WASHINGTON, Dec. 9.
Persia appealed to the Government to intervene diplomatically between Persia and Russia.
