MASTERS' REPLY TO STRIKE THREAT.

The cotton operatives executive has authorised the work people at the Nelson Mill to tender notice to strike today, owing to the employment of a nonunionist. The executive avow their intention of taking similar action in other mills.

Hie Masters’ Federation, employing a hundred and sixty thousand operatives, has accordingly given notice that after the 20th December all operatives are liable to dismissal without notice. It is understood that only one Nelson, employee now refuses to join the union.
