Captain Grossl, charged with espionage. has been committed for trial. Counsel stated that the cipher letters found in prisoner’s possession were for Rotterdam, and in these prisoner. was directed to* ascertain particulars of. the construction of armaments of British warships and preparations for arming merchantmen in war time. Two other letters from the same source, signed Petersen, were quoted.
