IN CONNECTION WITH NEW TOWN HALL. Irs* I’UKSS ASSOCIATION .3 AUCKLAND, Dec. 15. At the ceremony of opening the Town Hall yesterday by the Governor 3000 were present, including representatives of every local body in the city and suburbs, and the Mayors of Christchurch ancl'Palmerston. Every municipality in the Dominion sent wishes of goodwill. Tile Mayor arid. Governor were the principal speakers, and both received great- receptions. During the ceremony souvenirs were presented to Air Henry Brett, who presented the organ to the city, and Air Arthur Myers, ALP., who! gave a clock for the tower. .Jewels of office were presentee! to the ex-Muyors of Auckland. A week of festivities has been arranged in celebration of the event, and commenced this..afternoon, when a .reception was tendered to the viriting mayors and chairmen of local bodies.
