WORKING MEN’S PENSIONS
[UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION COPYRIGHT] (Received Dec. 23, 12.10 a.m.) . PARIS, Dec. 22. The Chamber lias adopted a modification of the workmen’s pensions, the retiring age being reduced from 65 to 60. The State contribution has been- increased by 75 to 100 francs. THE MOROCCAN AGREEMENT. The Senate referred the Moroccan agreement to a special committeeLIBERTE’S OFFICERS EXONERATED. The court-martial exonerated the Liberte’s officers, though Captain Jaures’ and Commander Joubert’s action in absenting themselves from the vessel was irregular. The Court eulogised,the gallantly- of Liten Goarnier and Bignon. DEFRAUDED OF BIG SUMS-
A man named Migler and his wife and a bank clerk named Champion- were arrested for swindling one Carpentier, a Spaniard, of £48,000 on the pretext of founding a bank, also £20,000 by the sale of Carpentier’s property at Buenos Ayres. Rene Etienne- was arrested at Auteuu for defrauding M. Fontaine, a wealthy manufacturer, of £40,000 by spiritualistic practices.
