SOME CHARITABLE BEQUESTS

Tile late David Wilson, who died on Cirristmas Eve at the advanced age of 85, and who was a very old colonist, haring arrived in the Dominion in the barque Victory in 1857, and settled m Ashburton district 38 years ago. left- an estate which it is expected trill he sworn at just under £BO,OOO. The religious and charitable; bequests total £3300, and of this all but £2OO is left to funds and institutions in connection with Lie Presbyterian Church of New Zealand. • The £3IOO is divided among fourteen objects, the biggest being £4OO each to the aged and infirm ministers fund and to assist weak congregations in settled charges, also £350 to Knox College endowment fund church extension, for near -work, and assisting the present- home mission stations, while £250 is left towards scholarships for divinity students, and £2OO each towards foreign missions and widows and orphans funds.
